Elk rut at Slippery Ann in Montana (2000 - 2006)I took photo's of the elk at Slippery Ann Wild life Refuge most every rut season. The refuge is located in North Central Montana and the Missouri River flows through it. Not all Photos taken will be shown.
It will take time to post these photo's as they will all be edited again because Photoshop has improved a lot since they were taken from 1999 - 2006.
I also took photo's of other wildlife and scenic things while there and included some them. More of the Elk photo's will be coming slowly. |

2016 Elk in Montana (10-07-2016)Elk at Slippery Ann on the CMR Wildlife refuge in Montana.
I have not been back to Slippery Ann since the fall of 2006. This was a real treat for me.
My wife, 'Viki,' whom I married 8+ years ago had never been to Slippery Ann before this trip.
Was able to add a few descriptions to some of the photo's. |

2014 Photo's (Wild Life Plus Life In 2014&15)I need to put more pictures in a yearly album so this is my first addition exclusively for 2014. I will be adding to it slowly in the next few weeks. There are a few photo's so at least you can tell I did take a photo or two. The sheep were not in Rocky Mountain National Park but on the West Slop near Kremlin, Colorado, Some of the elk were in the park and some just outside the boundary near Grand Lake, Colorado.
I just added new Desert Big Horn pic's I took 11-03-2014 on 11-24-2014. I am not sure how many more I will post but I saw them several times and each time got more photo's. 4 New RAM photo's I took in 2011 I believe. This is the first posting of them in any albums on the site. |

Snowqualmie, WA_Elk with Young (07_13_2009)These cows and calves came out most every evening and quite a few people came to see the almost daily event.
My wifes brother lived there at that time and we went out to see the show one evening just before sundown. It was a treat but one thing I forgot to ask is the question. Does the rut happen in the fall right here too? I need to find out if it does and if it does it is tempting to make a run up there to see that show too. I just finished editing the RAWS this evening. 02-13-2014. |

Elk - Fall rut season 2013 (October 2013)| These photos were taken of the elk rut season and scenery on the western slope of Rocky Mountain National park on October 16th and 21st, 2013 in the Kawuneeche Valley which is the entrance to the western part of the park just out of Grand Lake, Colorado. The Valley runs about 8-10 mile before starting the climb to Trail Ridge Road which is usually closed sometime in October due to snow depth. |

Canadian Rockies + (07/30/13 - 08/07/13)Most over whelming beauty, ever in one area. Something new around every turn in the highway. It was a busy place too.

Alaska - Glacier Bay (September 20, 2012)It was a 7 day inland passage cruise. The photos were taken using a Canon 7D and Canon 5D MK II in this album. I used the large 100-400 mm telephoto lens on the 7D and a 28-135 mm on the 5D MK II.
I also took some photos of the inside of the fanciest restaurant on ship. Have included those photo's at the end of the album. They were taken at breakfast on the 20th which is the same day we went through Glacier Bay National Park. |

The photo's taken in Vancouver were taken when we rode one of the many sight seeing buses that run all over Vancouver. You pay a fee for a certain time and can get off one bus and onto any of the others that company. |

Multiple Grand Valley Photos (Dec 2011-to Now)| I have taken some photo's of things around the house here plus inside and outside as we have fixed a few things up. We painted the whole interior. I might put in before and after but for now I have put in just after. It is time to redo some albums.I have deleted most of the photo's in this album. Since we started this alum a lot of the land scape has changed and is in the process of redoing. I will post some photo's in a while that shows things as they have happened and bring you up to date as we make progress. During the winter the work will wait till spring then things should start to happen then. I will show you how it looks in the next few weeks by adding the process of where were are at this time. Quite a few bushes, trees and the grass are going as we make room for improvements. We are hoping to have a yard that takes much less work than what we had to begin with. We a huge Ash tree cut down April in 2014 that had died and before that we had taken out several small trees and bushes that we felt we did not need. |

2011 Desert Big Horn Sheep (Nov 2011 rut)| The first 4 photos in this album were taken Sept 9, 2013 and the last time I saw many sheep was in 2011. There wasn't as much activity in 2011 as there was in 2010 but there were some nice young Rams. Didn't see or hear any head butts. There was only one older Ram that I saw in 2011. We were moving the last half of November so my photo trips were limited. I saw far fewer sheep but took more pictures per sheep so there isn't as much to show without duplicating photo's. |

Desert Big Horn Sheep (Fall 2010)| I took quite a few Desert Big Horn Sheep photo's. So decided that an Album was needed just for them. The first photo's were taken October 6, 2010 and the last ones were taken November 18, 2010. Some of what you will see contains action the human eye can not see, unless pictures are taken of the sequence using a DSLR Camera that can take several pictures a second when the button is held down. About 90% of the photo's in this album were taken in Fruita Canyon near Frutia, Colorado on the west end of the "Colorado National Monument." The first photo in this album was chosen along with 19 others in the 100th year Anniversary art contest of 'Colorado National Monument'. They picked the winning entries of the 20 and announced the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place of the 20 entries January 7th 2011. I didn't place but the photo's were on display until June 30 along with the 19 other entries. There were around 225 entries in the contest. There were some really nice photo's and art pieces in the 20. I'm glad I didn't have to be the judges. Being one of 20 was an honor. |

February 2009 Yellowstone In Winter (February 9, 10, 11, 12, 2009)This was a belated Honeymoon trip. We were unable to take our honeymoon when we were married March 23, 2008.
So we went to West Yellowstone, Montana, February 9th of 2009. There we toured the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center on Tuesday and again on Thursday.
The morning of the 10th we were picked up at out motel by David the driver of a snow coach named, "Rosebud" and headed for Yellowstone National Park. Our destination was, "The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone". We saw all points between, including Lower Yellowstone Falls, plus we went into the Hayden Valley.
Then on the 12th the snow coach, Griz and driver Joann took us to Old Faithful and all points between and brought us back to the motel late that day. Naturally we took lots of pictures for our friends to enjoy and to help us not forget what we saw and the good time we had. |

These photo's in this album are posted according to the newest post first and oldest last. I added a bunch of new photo's in mid January 2009. This album is dedicated to showing the Monument in different seasons and years with fog and without too. |

Tetons - Yellowstone - Tour Sightings (Summer 2010)I added this Album the 2nd of January 2011.
Several of the first photo's were taken in Yellowstone. There are quite a few a taken in Tetons National Park after that. I used both cameras, the 7D with the Canon - 18-200mm IS lens and the T1i with the Canon Pro - 100-400mm IS lens. The T1i took the 8000 and 9000 numbered photos.
There are buffalo, elk and and various photo's at the end of this album. I will add explanations later. |

Elk Album 1 (2000 to 2004, and 2006)| All photo's in this album were taken of Elk during the rut seasons at Slippery Anne wildlife refuge located on the Missouri River 70 miles north east of Lewistown, Montana from the years 2000 to 2006. I am in the process of editing some of the photos and will put the replacements in as time goes by. I have replaced quite a few already. The photo's with copyright notice are the old ones and they are towards the end of the album. The new PhotoshopCC program helps editing the older photo's so this is an upgrade for the older photos. Most of the older photos taken in 2000 - 2003 are not edited yet. I have edited one and it looks much better than the originals. |

This is Arches National Park starting at the entrance near Moab, Utah going into and coming back out the same road. There is one paved road in and out. Photo #1 is a pdf map of Arches National Park. You can print it out too. Viki and I revisited Arches April 12th (2009) The photos are posted plus plus sites along the road to Moab on highway 128 to the Castle Valley area then onto Dead Horse Point state Park in Utah is also included. They start at photo 79 and go to the end of the album at #254. I will edit a few so there isn't to much repeat and the flow will be better. |

We were in Fort Benton this past summer 2013 and I have added the additional photo's since they have finished putting the walls around the replica of Fort Benton on the Missouri River since I was last there in 2006. |
