| 1546.Myakka State ParkLaunched further north then last week's trip, right in Myakka State Park itself and circumvented the entire Upper Lake. We left time for hauling out the anchor and exploring the more primitive areas. Myakka State Park boasts 45 miles of beautiful untamed beauty and 45,000 alligators. We saw our share of them! 12 hours later we packed up and headed back to civilization. I could easily do this all the time. Again, thank you to my wonderful friend who lets me tag along.
As before, please click out to larger size to see the full beauty and detail the lens intended.
Enjoy! | |

| 1547.A Day on the Myakka RiverMy local shutterbug friend and I launched out from Snook's Landing (75S exit 191) around 6:30 a.m. We traveled 36 miles round trip northward.. turned around when we hit S.R. 72. It was NOT a trip for the faint of heart. His sturdy little boat went through hell and came back as beat up as we were. Some places were barely passable, but we did it. Even hurdled a dam. I came home burned, bit, beat and in bliss. I was in heaven. Once you see the pictures, you'll see why. It was my kinda day.
You really need to click through to larger size photos to see the detail captured by the lens.
Enjoy some old world Florida charm!

| 1549.February 2004 - Part ISpring is literally right around the corner here on the gulf coast of Florida. New growth is abundant, birds are busy and even the insects are beginning to reappear. Our chilly days and nights are not over but we are enjoying fairly consistent low to mid-70's. Baseball spring training begins in 2 weeks! | |

| 1550.Hawks Ridge Images by Ken HansonHi, thanks for stopping by. These images are posted for your enjoyment. Feel free to make any and all comments as they are welcomed. All images in this album were captured with an Olympus C-740UZ camera and post- processed in Paint Shop Pro 7 unless otherwise noted. I might add that in some cases, a Raynox 1540 Pro TC was used to extend the effective focal length. Sit back, take a few minutes and enjoy some of nature's handiwork. | |

| 1551.Sea ShellsThese are sea shell and coral that myself and my wife collected over several years.
Some of the shells and coral were self collected. Others came rocks and minerals I traded for them and also from a friend and his wife who scuba dive in the Caribbean.

| 1556.December 2003A selection of December's shots. A few taken with the Fuji 5000, however I sold that and bought a Panasonic DMC-FZ10K with 12x optical zoom. I'm in love. | |

| 1557.Northern LightsFirst stop at Valahalla. No aurora, a bit bright, but still got some decent shots of the stars. Later the lights put on a good show so we stopped in the road near Þingvellir. The clouds seem to add to the images. | |

| 1558.Christmas at Rye Wilderness - Rated RTyrone and I went trailing at Rye Wilderness today and stumbled onto a pair of otters that were looking for a little ottery love. Therefore, you must have exposure to National Geographic, The Learning Channel or The Discovery Channel before viewing the first 15 pictures. For added entertainment, be sure to read all captions.
(Friends might remember the last time Tyrone and I went trailing was on my birthday to Myakka State Park where we had the privilege of watching a pair of beautiful buzzards consummate their love on the top of a large electrical pole).
We are beginning to wonder about this.
Enjoy the pictures :) | |
