BONAWE IRON FURANCE
87.BONAWE IRON FURANCE
BONAWE IRON FURANCE was established in the 1700's to manufacture iron into products.
It was one of the most successful furnaces located in Scotland. We stopped to see this iorn furance only after we had heard, by another couple at our hotel, how interesting this site was. We did enjoy our visit. However, we still found the Abbeys and Castles of Scotland to be our favorite places to visit.

DIRLETON CASTLE
88.DIRLETON CASTLE

This was a GREAT castle with the BEST GARDEN OF THEM ALL! This is worth a stop. It is easy to get to from Edinburgh.... train to North Berwick (30 minutes) then bus (10 minutes) from right there to "front door" of the castle.
North Berwick, near Edinburgh
