| 1082.2010 Spouse Retreat
The 2010 South Carolina Synod's Rostered Leader's Spouse Retreat took place at White Oak Conference Center this year, and it was fun to be together and welcome some new faces into the group. Friday night was a time to get acquainted with each other and relax together, and then on Saturday, Pastor Bill Mitcham presented a mini-workshop. After our lunch break, we gathered for a service of worship with Holy Communion, led by Pastor Mikki Gay.

 | 1083.1/5 MARINES CHANGE OF COMMAND - 2010On 19 February 2010 at Camp Christianitos, on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base, in a Change of Command ceremony for 1/5 (1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division) Lieutenant Colonel William F. McCollough relinquished command of the battalion to Lieutenant Colonel Thomas B. Savage.
The battalion returned in December of 2009 from deployment to Nawa, Afghanistan where they were in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.
Photographs begin with arrival of guests, Marines of the battalion waiting nearby for Adjutant's Call to take their position on the parade deck, and a concert by the 1st Marine Division Band prior to the beginning of the ceremony.
Photographs follow the sequence of events in image #16, beginning with formation of the battalion staff and the Invocation by the Battalion Chaplain, Chaplain Ronald O'Dell.
The passing of the Battalion's battle colors, delivered by Battalion Sergeant Major William T. Sowers to the outgoing Commanding Officer, and in turn presented to the new Commander, symbolizes the formal transfer of command.
After image #131, Marines and guests visit and offer congratulations prior to leaving for the reception.

| 1085.Colombia, our Companion SynodBishop Herman R. Yoos and Pastor Mark A. Cerniglia traveled to Colombia, South America in February to attend the National Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Colombia. While they were there, Vice President Oliverio Mora, Bishop Buitrago and Bishop Yoos signed the Companion Synod Covenant agreement. | |

| 1086.Miranda Lambert concertWent to the Miranda Lambert concert at Billy Bob's of Texas. Got great photographs, and had a wonderful time. At the end of the concert, Blake Shelton came out with girl friend Miranda to give a small show.. what an added surprise and pleasure.

 | 1088.CHANGE OF COMMAND - 1ST MARINESChange of Command - 1st Marines (1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division). On 3 June 2009 in a Change of Command ceremony, Colonel Lewis A. Craparotta relinquished command of the famed 1st Marines to Colonel Daniel J. O'Donohue.
Colonel Craparotta assumed command of the 1st Marines on 2 June 2006, and during his tour of three years deployed with the Regiment's Headquarters to command RCT-1 (Regimental Combat Team) from January 2008 to January 2009.
These images are presented in the order of events of the day, beginning with the gathering of guests, serenade by the 1st Marine Division Band, the Change of Command, Pass in Review, and concluding with informal greetings and congratulations among families and guests. Image #1 describes the sequence of events.
