These are pictures of the USS Olympia which I took while on vacation with my brother in Pennslyvania. Please click on the link below to learn more about this remarkable ship.

The Olympia is an example of technology in transition, steam powered, but could still carry sail, operating her required a lot of hand labor, but she was one of the first ships equiped with an electric generator and electric lights.

For her time, she was a high tech weapon of war, equal to the Zumwalt Class destroyers being built today.

Follow along with me as I take a walk through this piece of history.
