Norfolk Island is the home of the majestic Norfolk Island Pine and some 40 other endemic plants. These are a source of considerable interest to scientists and botanists in that they can be found nowhere else occurring naturally. From a cultural point of view some of the plants used in weaving plaiting broom-making and other craft activities can be seen in the Botanic Gardens. | |

 | 393.BONAWE IRON FURANCE
BONAWE IRON FURANCE was established in the 1700's to manufacture iron into products.
It was one of the most successful furnaces located in Scotland.
We stopped to see this iorn furance only after we had heard, by another couple at our hotel, how interesting this site was. We did enjoy our visit. However, we still found the Abbeys and Castles of Scotland to be our favorite places to visit.

I divided the pictures into 5 groups.

5. Kimonos as Art.
The pictures in all 4 albums were shot on November 6, 2008. You will see that I like to frame pictures in arches and shoot the same subject from several angles and perspectives. | |

 | 400.SAN FRANCISCO ON OUR 57THLea and I visited one of our favorite cities for our 57th anniversary, site of our honeymoon in 1952. We were married at Camp Pendleton just before I reported to the 1st Marine Division in Korea, thus the delay in celebrating our marriage until I returned to San Francisco in August 1952.
The album begins with our entering the Oakland Bay Bridge late on the 5th, and ends with our anniversary dinner November 7th at a favorite old haunt, Alfred's Steak House.
We present this album to our sons, family and friends and acknowledge that their contributions to our past 57 years has been, as the MasterCard ad says, "Priceless!"
