CALIFORNIA WINTER SUNSET (27 January 2013)January weather along the coast south of Los Angeles has been cloudy and rainy most days this year. Every week or so the weather clears for a short time and we enjoy clear skies and colorful sunsets.
These images are shots from a spectular view site above the beach in Corona del Mar, just south of Newport Beach, on January 27, 2013.
First 3 photos just prior to sunset, then a number of images from one view point, each with slight differences created by lens settings, focal length, and movement of the sun.

Canon SX50HS (December 2012)| When I accidentally discovered a camera with a 50 x Zoom, I acted on impulse and treated myself to the luxury of a new camera. It is always nice to have new "toys" to play with, and this album contains a variety of the "first shots", starting with images taken in my backyard. Then I took it up to Kings Park at noon on a day of gusty winds, not ideal conditions, but the only time I had available and I was pleased with the results obtained while I am experimenting with it. |
