| 1684.Renovation: St. Matthew's, CharlestonSt. Matthew’s church sanctuary is currently undergoing an over $7,000,000 restoration. Over a period of many years, water has intruded into the structure, affecting the roof, exterior stucco walls, and ceiling. Restoration includes the removal of the slate roof, installation of a new roof deck, reinstallation of the slate roof, replacement of the fasteners on the copper portions of the steeple, new heating and air conditioning ductwork and equipment, parapet repair, new sound system, new interior and exterior lighting, repair of extensive termite damage and wood rot, lighting fixtures restored and re-wired for LED’s, removal of 85% of the exterior stucco, re-pointing all of the brick exterior surface, re-applying several layers of stucco to the entire building exterior, placing concrete and steel reinforcement into interior walls, installing a new marble center aisle, and new marble tile for the open air gathering space at the King Street entrance. | |

pieces. <> You will note some distinct design or construction
elements consistent with DeLizza & Elster construction, such as:
prong settings, florettes, rhinestone chains, figure 8 puddling of solder,
rivets/eyelets, wired over work, wire reinforcing, holes in earing
findings, dangles mostly in 3's, or 5's, riveted attachment of dangles,
casted stem, five link construction, etched over clasp and connecting
links, built in pin assembly, open set stones, use of various extravagant art glass stones and complicated three dimensional designs, (to name a few). <><>I am extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to contribute photographs of my private Juliana collection to the recently released book: The Art of Juliana Jewelry by Katerina Musetti. <>
