 | 1322.CHANGE OF COMMAND - 1/1, 2008On a beautiful morning at Camp Horno, inside the Camp Pendleton Marine Base, a Change of Command ceremony for 1/1 (1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division) took place on April 4, 2008.
LtCol Jeffrey T. Conner, USMC, shortly after returning with 1/1 from the battalions most recent deployment to Iraq, turned over command to LtCol Tye R. Wallace, USMC.
Photographs 1 through 16 were taken prior to start of the ceremony, including the arrival of the 1st Marine Division Band to play for Marines and guests gathering at the seating area.
The ceremony begins with formation of the staff in image 17, followed by "Sound Adjutants Call" in image 19. The photographs follow the Sequence of Events shown in image 1, and ends as the last unit has marched by the reviewing officers, LtCols Conner & Wallace, in image 82.
During "Pass In Review," a number of close ups of the battalion's young warriors are shown, as a salute to those Marines who deserve most of the credit for successful missions, and for assuring that more than two centuries of Marine Corps traditions and honors continue uninterrupted.
After image 82, Marines and guests greet and offer congratulations prior to leaving for the reception.
