5 Males / 2 Females
Black Tri's and Black Bi colors
American Hairless Terrier x Rat Terrier = an outcross to diversify the AHT gene pool. With this being the first generation AHT/RT cross (F1), all puppies will have hair, but carry a gene for hairlessness. We expect this litter to be the Tuxedo pattern

1318. BLACK ARAUCANA LF  (April 4, 2016)
The current North American standard calls for a chicken that is rumpless (missing their last vertebrae and lacking a tail), possesses ear-tufts (feathers that grow out from near the birds' ears), and lays blue eggs. In the United States and Canada, muffs, beards, and tails are all disqualifications. It is not an easy bird to produce because the tufts are a lethal gene. It is best to use 1 parent that has double tufts bred to a clean faced bird so you will have more live chicks. Some double tufted chicks die in the shell because of the lethal gene.

For all the hard work involved, when you raise them, it is such a joy to see the quality chick with double tufts hatched. I love the beautiful green sheen on my birds.

1319. American Buff Orpingtons  (April 4, 2016)
Orpington chickens reached America by 1891. In 1903 William Cook himself brought over a large importation and showed them in America. Farmers of the mid-western states favored the Buff Orpington chicken for its generally superior table-qualities, and its unique color – different than most general-purpose breeds. Orpingtons continued to boom until the poultry industry experienced a depression about 1912.

The qualities that won all the Orpington chicken varieties recognition were fast rate of growth, excellent egg production, and excellent table-quality. Historically, Orpington chickens made excellent broilers weighing 2 to 2.5 lbs at 8-10 weeks of age, excellent roasting chickens at 5 months of age, and excellent old fowl for the table as well. They are first-rate layers of large light to dark brown eggs. In fact, they were entered into the first egg-laying contest, held at the North Yorkshire farm of Simon Hunter of Northallerton, England, in 1887.

Orpington chickens were recognized by the American Poultry Association as a standard bred in four varieties: Buff, 1902; Black, 1905; White, 1905; and Blue, 1923. Males weigh 10lbs, females 8 lbs.

1320. ENGLISH CHOCOLATE CUCKOO ORPINGTONS  (April 4, 2016)
A barred pattern over chocolate. Some are single barred and look darker, double barred birds have more white and will appear lighter.
When using them for breeding it is good to understand the genetics.
A Chocolate rooster over single barred hens will give you sex link chicks. All female chicks will be chocolate.
