Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle, WA. (July 11, 2009)| Day trip with some on my photography club members to the Woodland Park Zoo. We first stopped at the Rose Gardens just outside the zoo. The Roses in July were mostly wilting. After the zoo we went to a restaurant going through the Fremont area of Seattle and stopping at the Fremont Troll and photographing it. |

DRYBURGH ABBEY (OUR FAVORITE border abbey)Dryburgh Abbey is one of the better preserved of the four known famous "Border Abbeys." The day we happened to stop here there were two men, a bagpiper and gentleman
in a tux, waiting patiently outside in a shaded area by some of the ruins of the Abbey church.
The piper said quietly "hi" to us and asked us where we were from. He told us he was waiting
to perform for a couple that were having a private wedding on the grounds of the Abbey.
The couple had come all the way from Colorado, USA to be married in Scotland.
We could see why they had choose this site for such a memorable event.
This abbey is our favorite of the border abbeys.
