Nature and Landscapes

The first three shots were of my first encounter with these adorable twins after another couple on a trail told me they were following them. Not one to give up a photo op, I went to find them. Took a whole 3 minutes.

The next day they were relocated to the back of the preserve. However, they persisted in seeking out humans and following them. So, it was Ranger Johnny to the rescue. He took them home and under his wing till they are old enough to make it on their own.

1279.Drama at the Condo

A loud ruckus caught my attention as I was leaving the riverfront. I found a pair of Downy Woodpeckers going absolutely berserk flying from one tree to another and screaming their little heads off. I looked around but could not find the reason for their angst. This went on for at least 15 minutes. The light was getting dim and my lens was struggling to focus.

I started to back away and prepare to leave when another glance at the Condo earned me the true pleasure (for me) to see what the cause of the problem was.

Because of the low light situation I really struggled for each of these shots. The 100-400L lens is not a great low-light lens using only the on-board flash. I pulled out every photography stop I knew to get these shots.
