| 2065.50s Coca Cola VMC 44 projectFound the VMC 44 accidentally on Craigslist, was just going thru some older listings as I do when I’m bored (has been known to get me in trouble), seen this as part of a garage sale that was listed a couple weeks before...emailed the person to see if by chance that it didn’t sell, called me back told me a couple days later, informed me that it was still available along with two other coolers (wish I had the room and the money I'm hooked could have finished at least one for the firehouse), got a chance to get there a week later, wasn't really looking for a new project yet (yeah right)...but learned a lot from The Westinghouse Junior I have been working on… did a lot of research while doing it, was curious to look this one over. knew I was going to be home for a bit after my back surgery… a project would help to keep my sanity (how easiley I could talk myself into it)...he came down a little in price....next thing you know it was in the back of my truck (I’m learning… when checking things out....have cash on hand and leave bike home lol). Stripped the 44 completely down, overall she seems to be in pretty good shape considering her age, most parts are there, needs little body work..get the mechanicals working and see what options I have for the refrigeration unit. Well had my surgery, as soon I can move around better and get my brain functioning again (good stuff they gave me while there), I’m going to start working on the small light parts and Ill post pictures as I go… anyone who has experience with these, please feel free to offer me suggestions as this is totally new to me..Thanks Bill | |

| 2067.1930s Westinghouse Jr Restorationan old cooler I came across one day accidentally while out for a ride on my bike, we came across a garage sale, they had some cool stuff that I could see as we went by....spun around to stop and check it out....scored some nice small stuff (thank god for saddle bags) got to talking to the guy...very interesting person retired, full of good stories and a lot of neat stuff he collected over the years, started showing me the stuff he had in garage, asked if I would be interested in an old coke cooler..took us to his basement...wow the stuff he had down there..I could have spent all day there, well he showed me the coke cooler....feel in love with it right away...told me what he wanted for it...at the time I was clueless on what they were worth...I was a little hesitant..then he said he would toss in a pepsi picnic cooler and a coke wood crate and a old coke picture ...at that point I gave him all the money I had on me...ride was done....was back in a flash with truck...and his balance of cash.. After the excitement settled...I'm not a pepsi fan, I decided to sell it...was in great shape and it would be better to be with someone who would appreciate more than I would.... wound up getting most of my money back...used that to restore the Junior...that was a great Bike ride that day...just wish I didn't lose their number and forget how to get there...would love to show him how his cooler came out | |
