Popayan, Colombian locality (12/10/2012)A nice clutch of Colombian milk snakes was born on 8/18/2012. The L. t. micropholis are of Popayan, Colombian locality. It's suspected that the micropholis found in the hobby come from in or near such an intergrade zone. This line is a naturally occuring intergrade between L. t. micropholis and L. t. andesiana, and siblings possess phenotypic and/or meristic characteristics that are intermediate between the two subspecies.
The 2006-parents to this clutch were obtained from Bill Lamoreaux in 2009. At that time the pair was Bill's future breeders since they have the best pattern available. Bill at that time had the original adults that came from Nathan Wells. Nathan Wells produced a limited number of offsprings from 2004 to 2006.
Here is a great opportunity to acquire an impressively large and unusual Colombian milk snake that rarely hits the reptile market. This milk snake display nice shade/bands of color and pattern (pronounced snout rings and broken up speckled noses).
