DUNSTAFFNAGE CASTLE (near Oban)Scotland's famous "Stone of Destiny"
is believed to have been kept here for awhile.
This Castle belongs still to the Campbell Clan.
The castle's gatehouse is occupied one night
a year by the Campbell chieftan.
The castle gatehouse is shown below in the photos.
This is a very interesting castle and fun to visit!

DIRLETON CASTLE (North Berwick, near Edinburgh)
This was a GREAT castle with the BEST GARDEN OF THEM ALL! This is worth a stop. It is easy to get to from Edinburgh.... train to North Berwick (30 minutes) then bus (10 minutes) from right there to "front door" of the castle. |
