1277.1980's SHOWTIME Los Angeles LakersThis album contains my trading cards chronicling the most entertaining basketball team of all time--the Showtime Los Angeles Lakers of the 1980's. With the arrival of Magic Johnson in the 1979-80 season to team with 6 time MVP Kareem Abdul Jabbar, the Lakers would win 5 Championships and appear in 8 finals in the next 10 years. Magic would win 3 MVP awards of his own and his artistry and unselfishness would propel the team (and the NBA) to new heights. Other key contributors were: Hall of Famers James Worthy (1988 Finals MVP) and Jamaal Wilkes along with defensive ace Michael Cooper, Norm Nixon and Byron Scott. Though Basketball is not my favorite sport, no athlete ever gave me more thrills and enjoyment than Magic did.
