As you can read, separation during war is especially difficult. Daddy and mama married September 3, 1939. They were very young, and they missed each other terribly. Unlike the first two albums, all the letters here are "dated," and I've attempted to put them in some order. Those commenting will mostly be their children ... 2006-Velma Rose's 90th Birthday Party (August 26, 2006)Not until we become adults, do we fully begin to appreciate who our mothers really are. They nurture us through our childhoods, putting up with our sassy ways and times, and cry with us through our adulthoods. As we grow older and have our own children, we realize that our mothers are very strong persons, and we begin to wonder if we can ever fit into her shoes.
Although we "wear our own shoes" in life and can never do things exactly the same way as our mothers did, we are blessed that she leaves with us the "blueprint" from which to build upon. If we are blessed to have a godly mother then we can bring up our own children in the ways of God, so that when they grow older we too will have the same assurance that some day they will live for Him.
To Mom........with much love and many prayers....We have ALL been blessed to have a godly mother in you.
