TEEN TITANS - Donna Troy (April 2008)| Last minute "Quickie" costume for flatmate to wear to Brisbane SupaNova 2008 - it had to be FAST, I knew I had stash to make the dress for this character and flatmate had boots. SO. Plain tube dress, a little shaping at the waist & shoulders, overlocked/rolled hems to finish armholes & neck; leftover Yellow stretchknit from the Quidditch costume served for the belt, a W stitched over the front of it. Flatmate & bf cut out the stars while I sewed tube dress, and glued stars on once she was in the dress. 45mins & hey-presto! Go Boon Team! (there were silver gauntlets too/not photographed here) |

Formal Wear (22nd April, 2007 - completed)Lovely girl and her mum were struggling to pick fabrics for a long skirt for the girl's school formal. She had a top already and had spied a dressform setup in SPOTLIGHT that she really loved the look of. They had several colours ranging dark lavendar to grey & I suggested they ask at the counter to take them outside to compare in natural sunlight with the top. Well, conversation ensued, they took my card home & a week later the girl, Ashley, rang and asked if I would take it on.
Ashley's School Formal is April 28th and it was delightful to make this for her. . |

Original Jedi - MaceWindu Concept (10th April, 2007)This gent had an original Jedi design inspired by the Clone Wars animated look combined with his theory that "Mace Windu may not have died in EPIII". This was a very classy & elegant design IMO!

Birthday Bustle & Corset (4th November, 2006)| A 21st Birthday gift for QLDFF'er Rebecca. Bek was having a Masquerade Ball to celebrate & designed the outfit & had selected the fabrics. I was broke at the time, but wanting to contribute a lasting present, so I was very honoured that she accepted my gift to make her birthday ensemble! This was the most enjoyable corset I've made to date & I think it's the best one I've done! |

Jedi Robe (November, 2005)| A stately robe is staple in every discerning Jedi's wardrobe! Dan commissioned my services the minute he clapped eyes on the bolt of material I had stowed for these. It has a gorgeous outter texture whilst smooth and darker inside. (I have enough fabric left for a child's version.) |

Captain Hazard (May 2004)| Another commission, for an Occ.Health & Safety promotion where I work, but many months later the project had to be abandoned. First due to our hero having a long absence due to a non-work-related injury, plus later ongoing conflicting work schedules kept preventing fittings. |

Industrial Harlequin (completed 6th March 2004)Fire twirling outfit - something less traditional & harder edged than the circue-de-solei influence .. wet-look PVC embelished with a mal-aligned diamond pattern in metallic lycra, diamonds randomly shadowed by matching sequin trim - all placed to accent the bodyline erratically, crop top featured a cheeky keyhole.
Customer Lisa is a fire twirling/comedianne. . |

Lauren's Fancy Dress Ball (19th September, 2002)For decades and decades, an annual Fancy Dress Ball has been tradition for most Primary Schools in small town country AU. (my older cousins were taking me to theirs a couple of years before I even started school, so guess where my love of costuming got its roots!) My 11yr old cousin Lauren finishes Grade 7 this year, 2002 would be her last FDB. As I'd visited for her sister's Debutante Ball, I would go home to make Lauren her costume & attend her Ball as a birthday present. And so we made her over into a faerie => with attitude!!! - |

Telstra OnAir Awards (10th August, 2002)| Featuring the Kylie Minogue 'Cant Get You Outta My Head' jumpsuit and other various costume pieces - for a dance medley performed by Team Supervisors at their annual awards night. Everything was constructed (including having to restart the white suit from scratch after the first fitting) in the four days preceeding the Event. The white pantsuit drew an incredible response - I've never seen ANYTHING I've done in all my life, extract such an explosion of reactions... quite a sparkling moment I'll never forget. . |
