Album information
Open any album while signed in and you will see two helpful strips: the Album Bar (edit, upload, share) and the Image Bar (work on checked photos). Click a thumbnail to open the viewer for slideshow, sharing and download (from the Share menu when enlarged), and sometimes comments or email. Linked albums hide owner-only tools such as upload. Photos and videos auto-rotate on display using EXIF orientation (still images) or equivalent metadata (many videos), in Standard and Enhanced layouts. Under Global Settings → Default album viewer you can prefer Standard (classic layout) or Enhanced (uses wide screens for bigger thumbnails and a roomier full-size view). The differences are spelled out under Enhanced layout vs Standard below.

Enhanced layout vs Standard
Enhanced layout spreads thumbnails and the big photo view across wider screens so you see more at once. Standard layout keeps the familiar placement of buttons and bars you may have used for years. Your privacy, download rules, and guest options work the same either way. Enhanced also places Share Link in the title toolbar on your home listing, folders, and albums (when sharing is available for your account), and Share on the enlarged viewer toolbar for the current file.
  • Image properties and URL copy (enlarged view) — In Enhanced layout, Image properties sits on the top row of the enlarged photo or video viewer. Open it to copy direct URLs, sizes, and HTML for that item (auctions, forums, embedding)—the same information as before, relocated for quicker access while you are viewing the file large.
  • Share menu and download (enlarged view) — When your account and album allow it, Share on the enlarged viewer toolbar opens a submenu that includes Download for the current file, alongside share link, copy media, and copy link. Image properties stays on the same top row.
  • Share Link (title toolbar) — In Enhanced layout, Share / Share Link in the header row for your home page, a folder, or an album opens copy, a QR code, and social shortcuts for that page’s URL, as described under Share Albums → Share Link. Whether visitors who are not logged in see sharing controls depends on Global Settings → Show sharing to guests.
  • Share (enlarged view)Share on the enlarged viewer toolbar opens a menu for the current photo or video: a QR code for the direct link to that file, Share… link to use the device or browser share sheet when available (or copy the direct URL if sharing is not offered), copy the media to the clipboard when the browser supports it, copy link as plain text, and Download to save that file when downloads are allowed. Invite friends and the multi-network social row for the album or folder page stay on the title toolbar Share Link control. See Enlarged view: share, gestures & keys.
  • Previous, Next, Back to album — In Enhanced layout these navigation controls are repositioned on the enlarged-view toolbar so you can move through the album without hunting below the image.
  • Slideshow, Download, Email photosStart slideshow, Download, and Email photos (when Send Email is enabled) are grouped toward the upper right of the toolbar in Enhanced layout.
  • Titles, descriptions, and comments — Editing titles and descriptions and adding comments use compact icons instead of older large text buttons, keeping the viewer clean on all screen sizes.
  • Mobile — Viewing albums and uploading from phones and tablets is easier with the updated touch-friendly layout.
  • Theme-colored controls — Toolbar and viewer buttons use your personalization colors (not fixed image buttons), so controls match your album theme.
  • New-album defaultsEnhanced albums start with Large 2.0x grid thumbnails (one of five sizes) and a Large first enlarged view. Standard albums default to Medium 1.5x thumbnails and a Medium first enlarged view. More detail under Creating an album → Thumbnails and Sizes and default view.
  • Orientation (auto rotate)Photos and videos are shown right-side up using the orientation they were taken in (typically EXIF orientation for still images; embedded rotation metadata for many videos). That applies to thumbnails, the enlarged viewer, and slideshow, in both Standard and Enhanced layouts. It is display-only; use the Image Bar Rotate tools if you need to change the stored rotation (see Rotating images).
Automatic display rotation reads each file’s capture orientation (EXIF for most photos; comparable tags for many videos) so it appears the way you held the camera or phone. This works everywhere guests see your media, in Standard and Enhanced. Use the Image Bar Rotate commands when you want to re-save a different rotation on the server.

Album bar (Edit, upload, share)
The Album Bar sits below the album header while you are signed in. From left to right, typical actions are:
  • Edit Album — Title, description, columns, sizes, guestbook, security, and other album options.
  • Personalize — Themes, fonts, header and background images, and element colors (same ideas as “Personalize My Album” on older menus).
  • Easy Upload, Mega Upload, FTP Upload — Add files to this album (not shown for linked albums).
  • Invite Friends — Send an invitation so guests open the live album on ImageEvent.
  • Email Album — Send a compact HTML message with previews; good when you want one email, not a full site visit.
  • Embed Album — Copy a snippet to show the album inside your own website (not shown for linked albums).
  • PropertiesAlbum Properties opens in a window and shows which layout options are set for this album: album viewer, enlarge size, Number of Columns, and Images Per Page. For columns and per-page counts you can choose Auto (columns best fit the visitor screen; images per page uses an adaptive layout) or pick fixed numbers to compare. Change any option to preview the live album. To keep your choices permanent, click Edit Properties. Full explanation of Auto vs fixed counts: Creating an album → Columns and rows. More under Album information.
  • Statistics — Hits per image and album visits (not shown for linked albums).
Pro Tip
Use Album Properties (Properties on the Album Bar) to test Auto columns, Auto images per page, fixed numbers, and each album viewer on the open album before you save.
Use View as Guest from your account header to confirm what visitors see without owner-only bars.

Image bar (rotate, move, rearrange)
Above the thumbnails, the Image Bar works on checked photos (except whole-album tools). Linked albums do not show bulk rearrange tools.
  • Rotate 90°, 180°, 270° — Applies to the checked files.
  • Delete — Asks for confirmation, then removes the selected files.
  • Move/Copy Images to Album — Opens a window to choose another album, then Move or Copy.
  • Rearrange allReverse, Alphabetize, or Date Taken reorders the entire album via a short confirmation dialog.
  • Image Embeds — Same workflow as Working with Images → Image embeds.
To move a single photo to another slot, click its thumbnail number and choose the new position (see Rearranging images).

Slideshow
Slideshow advances through photos automatically or step-by-step, depending on viewer mode and your settings. The default delay between slides comes from Global Settings → Default slideshow delay. Whether guests see slideshow controls is controlled by Show slideshow buttons. From the thumbnail page you can open a slideshow in a window; inside the enlarged viewer, use the on-screen controls where the theme provides them. In Enhanced layout, Start slideshow sits with other actions toward the top right of the toolbar. On wide screens the site may remember your window width briefly so the next visit can pick a comfortable number of columns automatically.

Play, pause, and interval (enlarged viewer) — Next to the image, slideshow timing uses one Play/Pause control: it shows Pause while slides are advancing automatically, and Play when the show is paused or not running. Pause clears the small seconds readout beside the interval, but the slideshow still remembers how much time was left on the current slide; pressing Play continues from that remainder (it does not restart the full interval taken from the drop-down). The interval menu sets seconds per slide. Opening that menu stops the countdown and the next advance so you can change the value; choosing a new number starts a full new wait from that choice. If you open the menu and close it without changing the value, playback resumes the same way as before, with the same remaining time. There is no separate Stop control—use Pause to hold on the current photo.

Photo viewer: Share menu, PDFs & video
Opening a photo or video uses the album’s viewer: zoom levels, next/previous, and optional EXIF depend on account and album options. Photos and videos automatically rotate on screen to match how they were shot (EXIF orientation for still images; embedded rotation metadata for many videos). When allowed, Share on the enlarged viewer toolbar opens a menu where you can Download the current file, copy the media or link, and more (see Enlarged view: share, gestures & keys). The Copy and Download demo under Image embeds uses separate buttons for practice; the live enlarged viewer groups those actions under Share. In Enhanced layout, Image properties and Share sit on the enlarged viewer toolbar, and previous/next and back-to-album are relocated for quicker reach. For touch gestures on the image area, see Enlarged view: share, gestures & keys. PDFs and Office types open in a new tab or download; some RAW files offer a JPEG preview. Video may show a player or download link depending on format and Right click disable. If guests cannot download, check Global Settings → Download ability and album security.

Enlarged view: share, gestures & keys
While a photo or video is open large, the toolbar Share control (when your account and album allow it) opens a menu:
  • QR code — A code that encodes the direct URL to this image or video (the same address as Share… link and Copy link), so guests can scan it with a phone camera.
  • Share… link — Uses the browser or device share sheet when available (for example to send by message or mail, or to pick an app). If sharing is not offered, the direct URL to that image or video is copied instead.
  • Copy to clipboard — Copies the actual media when the browser supports it (still images are the most reliable across devices). If the browser cannot place the file on the clipboard, you may get the link or another fallback message.
  • Copy link — Copies the direct URL as plain text.
  • Download — Saves the current photo or video using the browser’s download behavior when your account and album allow downloads (same capability as the former standalone download control on the enlarged toolbar).
This mirrors Share Link on the title toolbar—copy, QR, and a path to share—but for the current file so guests can pass one shot without re-navigating. Invite friends and the multi-network social shortcuts for the album or folder page URL remain on the header Share / Share Link control only; they are not duplicated inside the enlarged viewer menu.
  • Phones and tabletsPinch to zoom the page in or out around the picture. On the main image area, swipe left for the next photo and right for the previous one (when album navigation is enabled). Swipes on the video player itself are ignored so they do not fight playback controls.
  • Desktop and laptop — Use the toolbar Previous, Next, and Back to thumbnails (or the equivalent exit control for your viewer mode). Use the viewer’s zoom or Other sizes links to change the displayed resolution where your account offers multiple enlarged sizes.
If a share or copy action fails, try again from a direct tap or click on the menu item (browsers often require a clear user gesture for clipboard and share APIs). Click outside the share menu to close it.

Photo comments & descriptions
When the album allows it, guests can add comments on a photo using the comment icon on the thumbnail or in the viewer. Owners can review and remove entries. Per-photo descriptions may be edited by guests only if you enabled that in album options; otherwise only you edit titles and descriptions. For keyboard shortcuts in that same small window (submitting a comment, moving between photos), see Titles & descriptions below.

Titles & descriptions
In the enlarged viewer, Add title / Edit next to the title or description opens a small window (the same screen as guest comments, with edit controls for owners); many themes use compact icons for these edits. On the thumbnail grid, description links behave the same way when you are signed in. Use this when you want to fix spelling or add a caption without re-uploading the file.

Keyboard shortcuts in that window: press Control-Enter to submit—for example to save a title or description, post a new comment, or save an edited comment—without clicking Enter or Add. On a Mac, use Command-Enter the same way. When the text cursor is not in a field (so you are not typing), the Left Arrow and Right Arrow keys go to the previous or next image in the album.

Image properties & HTML
Image properties is a different control from Properties on the Album Bar above the thumbnails. Open a photo or video large, then use image properties to copy direct URLs for each generated size, HTML snippets, and related options. It complements Image Embeds when you need one image at a time for auctions, forums, or static pages. In Enhanced layout, it sits on the top row of the enlarged viewer so copying a URL is one click away; in Standard layout, use the viewer’s image properties where your theme places them.

Email selected photos
If Global Settings → Send Email option is on, the album toolbar can include email for selected photos. Select thumbnails with the checkboxes, then use the send-email control to open the compose screen and complete the message. In Enhanced layout, email for the current selection is grouped toward the upper right with slideshow and download.

Pick thumbnail
On your home or folder listing, Pick Thumbnail lets you choose which image represents an album or folder in the list. Useful when the default first upload is not the best cover.

Reorder one photo
Beside each thumbnail, the numbered button moves that one photo to a new position (unlike Rearrange all, which rewrites the whole album). This matches the small pop-up you get from the thumbnail grid before using the Image Bar’s bulk tools.

Album information
The Album Bar Properties window (Album Properties) shows what is set for this album: share URL, privacy, how many photos are in the album, and under Select Options the album viewer, enlarge size, Number of Columns, and Images Per Page. Auto columns picks a column count that best fits the visitor screen; Auto for images per page uses an adaptive layout. You can switch to fixed column or per-page values to see how they look. Adjust any option to preview the live page. When you want those choices saved for good, click Edit Properties. See Creating an album → Columns and rows for the same Auto vs fixed ideas on the edit form.
