San Fernado RV Park (December 8, 2004)This is the RV park that Sue & Tom Stouse stayed in last year and helped us get a spot this year. It is a nice RV park with a small swimming pool and hot tub. A gathering place with cable TV. There are restrooms, showers and a laundry area. Cost $390us per month. That covers everything. However your site does not have cable TV and if you want it you have to make arrangements with the cable company. We choose to only have the internet connection and not the TV. (not enough english speaking channels for the money). We're enjoying our stay! |

Kayaking the Lagoon (November 11, 2004)One morning on the Radio net (VHF) someone announced a kayak trip back up into the lagoon. This Lagoon is on the other side of the dredged out area where the marina is, and streches back into the tidal plain a few miles. It's basicaly where the orginal stream comes from the mountians and dumps into the ocean. We were to meet at 7:00am in order to catch push from the incoming tide as we paddled up into the lagoon and then ride out, on the out going tide. Great fun! |

Stone Island Trip (November 18, 2004)Stone Island is no longer an Island. Sometime in the distance past it was joined with the mainland. It is now a very long stretch of beach (9 miles). Along the northern end are about a dozen palapa resturants. It is located south of Mazatlan. You get there by either a very long drive or a bus ride to old town and a panga taxi ride across the old harbor. We chose the later. |

The local performing artisits train the children how to perfom. The kids then train all year. They go around to alot of public appearances during the holiday season to raise money. It was quite a show for a bunch of kids! |

Teacapan (December 30, 2004)We took a day trip in our friends car to a small village about 80 miles south of Mazatlan. (see map on brochure) We traveled in a caravan with two other car loads of people. The name of the place we went is Teacapan (Tee-ack-ah-PAN). On the way there we stopped in the town of El Rosario where there was a very old and beautiful church. While in Teacapan we had a great lunch, with cake for desert even! Then we took a panga boat ride up into the estuary for some bird watching. On the way back to Mazatlan we stopped at a few of the RV parks along the way for future reference. |
