My fourth visit to Scotland, this time for a month. Stayed with friends in Fife, Inverness and travelled to Applecross and Ullapool on the West Coast, the Orkney Islands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkland, and up and down the Eastern Coast.

The show starts. It poured for the first whole hour - typical Scottish weather.
Another cool shot with the misting rain.
Look at all the pretty colors. The rain was misting and causing my flash to refract. Pretty cool effect I think.
Sitting in the stands at the Military Tattoo in the rain looking towards Edinburgh Castle all lit up for the show about to begin
Gorgeous view of the castle from my seat in the stands.
More performers getting soaked but nothing stops the show. The Scots are used to this!
The rain finally stops so we can see what is going on.
The end of the show - pipes en masse.
Full review!
Michelle came up to Edinburgh for a day while she was visiting a friend in England. She's about to catch the train to Glasgow.
Best Friends!
Dougie and I went to visit a Scottish Castle that is still used as a family estate. It's only open certain days and times since the family still maintains residence there part of the year.
Dougie and I made it to the middle of the hedge maze on the castle grounds. This fountain was in the center.
Resident Peacock on castle grounds.
An Arboretum in Central Scotland where they have trees from all over the world.
Pretty waterfall on the burn.
Dougie on the observation deck looking over the waterfall and burn. That's where the picture of me was taken, then me and Dougie climbed down to the waterfall itself.
Human sized chess board at the local castle near where I was staying in Fife.
A cobblestone street in a small Scottish village.
A beach on the North Coast of Scotland. Even though it was August it was very chilly.
Dunnet Head Lighthouse. Everything is automated now so no one lives there any more.
The beach below Dunnet Head with the tide coming in.
6am the following morning and we made the ferry to Orkney. We travelled through some of the roughest waters in the North Atlantic on this ferry ride.
