Reconciliation Mural at Fremantle The Wargul (Rainbow Serpent) represents the strength, beauty and creation of the natural features of this country. The green and blue water represents the mampakut (the ocean) and the derrbil yarrigan (the fresh water of this country. The ocean and the freshwater each have their own stories and identity, which represents the differences between people. Each can exist in their own right as well as co-exist. This signifies that everybody born in this country is part of this land and can identify themselves by looking at the land. With this identity and belonging comes the responsibility to care for land and to acknowledge the history of this land through the Bibbulmun people. | |
