3 Yup--thats the outhouse. Had to shovel down to it---This pic is around 1955 on "Old Town" Valdez. Before the earthquake.
4 I built the house with a 175# per sq ft roof so the snow would'nt slide but chickened out after 15 years and put on a metal roof. Now I have to plow the windows clear.

6 This is on Thompson Pass about 30 miles from Valdez. They say it's some of the best spring powder skiing in the world. It's also a playground for snow machines. You can get up onto the glacier ice fields and cover many miles that are otherwise difficult to traverse.

8 This lodge is the Tsaina Lodge 35 miles from Valdez. It's owned by a resort owner from Aspen Colorado who caters to his clients. They only open it for about four months for spring heli skiing and close it the rest of the year.
9 Nice spring weather on Thompson pass brings out the snow worshipers.Every kind of snow sport...skiing, boarding, snow machines parasailing and on and on. Some folks bring their campers here and just live and party for those few months of spring.
10 This is the operation at Tsaina (pronounced saana) Lodge. They have 7 helicopters on the move...here is just three. There are several other outfits at different locations doing the same.
