The hardware mesh.

I'd suggest something different, something less abrasive to work with. Even with gloves on, our hands were cut to shreds.

Yay, pigs.

Corroplast, corrogated plastic, used as bases.

finished product.

Wheels on the bottom are a must if you want to be able to get behind to clean the wall, etc.

Three months after construction, we did remove the carpet in the room. That makes it so much easier to keep the room clean!

Hay racks used. They are actually sold as magazine racks in the bathroom fixture section at Target.

A closer look at the front. The little cavy wooden ornaments were purchased online.

Some of the hanging toys I bought for the pigs, for the most part that are ignored but they add some pretty color. lol

1 year after we made them. I added chew proof report binders to the sides and front of the coroplast. A lot of the pigs chewed the coro up, I think 4" sides are probably to blame for their tasty appeal. Sides at nose level, more readily available to munch on when impatiently awaiting vegetables. Pigs.

New hayracks made from the mini 6"x6" cubes sold in the office supply section of Target. Some of my older pigs weren't eating much hay from the previous racks that hung a bit overhead, these seem to be better to encourage them to eat more. Lazy pigs.

made from a 2'x4' utility shelving unit, cubes and coroplast. Nice for 4 pairs of pigs, or 5 if you are able to fit the 5th shelf on the unit - too tall for me!

Rope lights added to the back, but I don't advise this unless you pull the unit out from the wall. After a couple months, the lights had made charred marks in the wall. NOT COOL.

Since the herd has been reduced and two of our cats developed bad habits, we converted the condo to a cat enclosure.

I love your ideas!! I think that looks better than having four cages all around the room, and it's still pretty! great idea!! Any suggestions on what to use for the wire mesh instead??
