We were all taking a break, when Nick came up and said he had been exploring and thought he might have found something. He had caught a glimpse of two large Spiral pictographs and was going to go back to see what was there. What he found was what I am calling the “Owl Eyes” ruin.
From his photos, you can see that this was an amazing find. Not visible from down in the wash, it was a serendipitous find on his part. Although Nick is an excellent climber, he was not able to access the ruin itself but his telephoto images makes it seem as if he did.
Note photo takers are given in the titles under the thumbnails:

The descriptions under the photo thumbnails in the album sometimes contain links to maps or additional information. These are identified by "Blue” text for links. I've also inserted links to Google Maps to show where certain photos in the album were taken or to locate features shown in the photos. Click on the link, close the sidebar, and choose satellite view. Basically, you can then zoom in and out using the mouse wheel or drag the map by clicking and holding.
The thumbnails do not do justice to the ruins, petroglyphs and pictographs, so I would recommend enlarging them as well. Please take the time to view the many videos to better experience what it was like to be there.

(View at Original size) You can see that the ruin has been built around several large boulders. On closer examination, I wonder if the mass of timbers (with some rocks within might be the walls and roof of a kiva rather than a collapsed roof? (See PHOTO from Day 1). Between ruin and the Owl Eyes, look on the ground at several rectangular stone boxes. Similar ones occur at the Samurai Flag ruin: PHOTO and at a ruin in Slickhorn Canyon (2004): PHOTO. What these are for is unknown
