Lab comments: Factors VIII and IX Activities are elevated beyond reference range. The finding of high factor activities on the basis of in Vitro clotting time may reflect sampling/processing problems (and "preactivation" of the coagulation proteases and cofactors by the generation of trace amounts of Thrombin). This Sample was somewhat hemolyzed, indicating that ex vivo activation is likely. While these factor activities may not reflect Zarra's baseline levels, they ruleout a clinically severe coagulation factor deficiency.
