This disease has a late adult onset. It is non-painful but has no cure.

My little doggie comes to school with the big kids when we do genetics, and visits the little kids when we talk about “special needs pets” or pet care in general, or any excuse she can use to jump into the car! What a social bug she turned out to be, and a terrible beggar if she thinks you are eating something tasty! She sits up, and shakes hands, and will dive under the covers if you let her in bed (she learned that one on her own). I’m sorry to not have pictures to share, but will try to do better. I just wanted you to know that Jazzy is the most loving little thing – and every time I look at her, I understand where that “cute as a speckled pup” thing came from. UPDATE ON ANGELICA:
From her Mom, Brenda
After 26 years and 3 hurricanes we finally moved from Florida. Angelica had retired from the Nursing home upon the passing of her favorite resident. She no longer waited at the door to leave with me in the morning, and it was clear she wanted to stay home.
About 6 months ago our family moved to north Georgia, along with Angelica and my husbands Boxer.
Speaking of Boxers, my husband and his sister wrote a novel about a Boxer entitled "Bodo: The Tale of the Woodcarver's Dog." The book is selling on Amazon.com and about 20 other websites in several countries. In the printed matter in the front of the book, they dedicate the book to fellow dog lovers and name the dogs, both living and gone, that have influenced their lives. Angelica was immortalized on that page of the book.
If you go to Amazon.com. locate the book, then do a search inside the book for "Gelica" and you will see her name. They have great reviews and are almost done with a sequel.
Angelica is always fun to be around and her antics keep us entertained. For example, now that she is getting older she sometimes gets a little "gassy", like my husband. Most times they are silent, but sometimes they make a noise. When that happens, she bolts from the room with her tail between her legs like the sound was coming to get her. If I could catch that on video it would have to win first place in comedy. |
