I see there has been a few visitor. I have uploaded the images but still have to rearrange them. Please return later. This red vehicle is a one of five 1950's Japanese firetruck in the town of Bhamo.
Please add comments to identify any of these vehicles. thanks
This is what I call the international Burma truck. It has a US Army frame and running gear, front clip, cab and steel bed. The wheels are russian, the tires chinese, the engine is japanese, and the wood box, local burmanese made. I suspect most WWII vehicles in Burma have been modified in someway to keep them on the road.
The hood and the fenders have been extend probably 10-12 inches most likely to accommodate the larger engine.
Most of the large trucks have had their engines replaced with Japanese diesel engines. Not sure what type but maybe "Hino"
