Padme's Picnic Dress - SW:EPII
Another pretty girly-girl dress from the StarWars Galaxy and the first of several eBay-bound costumes for 2007.

Never intended making this myself, but been collecting bits n pieces over the years purely because they fell in my lap.  Thanks to a few more lucky finds and SPOTLIGHT sales I find myself stocked up and ready to put a version of this gorgeous costume thru the THREADWORXS treatment!

The flash washed out the colour a little

For decorating the skirt I couldnt get the X shaped petal sequins many costumers have had, & I couldnt find any clear or opaque sequins that weren't an Iridescent colour

.. but this 2mtrs trim was $8 from Spotlight & I'll unpick the sequin lines.  Plan to reuse the elasticised netting on a period dress I'm making later in the year.

For the cape I will be using this stretchy tulle, $2pm. @ 150cm wide I bought 1.5mtr.

These colours I combined & tested on the tulle. They were 20% off today for VIP's - $2.25ea.  Intend to test a small square 1st & see how it dries before colouring the whole 1.5mtrs.

This craft ribbon was $2 but is too green in hindsight, so I'll take it back to exchange.  The embroidered trim is the most expensive item to date - $12.99pm.

These hairbuns were the first thing I ever bought like 3 or 4 YEARS ago.. pounced on them in a Discount Store.. they were a few dollars each.

Flash shows up the slight gloss of the crotchet yarn ..

Cape details... there is a distinct pattern line to the placing of the buds, its easier to discern looking at it sideways.

Colour testing. 1m of trim yielded about 60 clusters = 120. Corset needs 15 & cape approx:80 + lines of single buds are placed every 2nd row. So 25 clusters split into 3, expect will need more than 75 singles.
