Zidler's Maharaja Wedding outfit. I had the supplies to make this for last year's MOULINROUGELIVE! show at All-Con 2005 in Dallas, but time ran out. NOT this year however!
Very basic rendition; keeping in mind this costume needed to be shadowcast-friendly to enable speedy costume changing.

8 Materials: a very near off-white polyknit crepe ($3yd from Walmart), 4 x maribou trim ($2 per length from a Dollar Store), gold lame' ($3yd Walmart), gold filigree lace ribbon - 2 x $4 per roll from ? Joanne's
9 The robe and sleeves take shape.
10 The filigree lace ribbon had wire running each side, so this had to be removed by sliding the ribbon along - I cut the lengths I needed first then slid the wire out. Easier! than sliding 5yds all at once.
11 TIP#5894357 - FabricTac is your best friend when you have a deadline. NEVER underestimate the value of FabriTac! TIP#5894358 Decorate sleeves before sewing to robe! Work from left to right - secure some ribbon, then catch up with the top & bottom maribou rows..
12 Ta-DAH!!!!!!
13 The cumerbund prior to pleating. This time I sewed the ribbon overlay onto the Lame'.
14 The pleats are sewn along the back pleat then the front ironed down. The ends secure at the back with several rows of Velcroe, so it will adjust to different waist measurements.
