Chloe came to us on Sunday, October 3, 2010 through the generosity of Bob, Elianna and daughter Nina J. of Clearwater, Florida.

Although Chloe is not a toy variety rat terrier, her sire is just 10 pounds and so she may carry genetics for smaller puppies. Her dam weighs 12 pounds.

This is pretty much what Chloe loves best - to be on the go. Our property offers her opportunities to chase squirrels, play frisbee with some of the other dogs and walk the horse paths through the woods.

Chloe is a white/black bicolored girl in the piebald (spotted) pattern, with ticking (freckling). Her face is solid black, which can make it very difficult to photograph her. Bruce took a perfect face portrait here, showing her wedge-shaped head and erect ears.

We had visitors at the house today, wanting to see and learn more about rat terriers. Chloe was the first rattie I brought out for "show-n-tell" time. She became most animated when she smelled the Pupperoni treats.

Chloe had a very busy and exhausting day yesterday. She gave birth to five beautiful puppies between 12:55 A.M. and 8:15 A.M. But Pup #6, Simone, never learned to play "follow the leader" after her five siblings were born, and required an emergency C-section to "birth" her. Chloe celebrated her 4th birthday on June 27th and had fresh garden tomatoes in with her breakfast. She loves tomatoes!

Today is Day 50 of her pregnancy. Her due date of July 13th is approaching. ***UPDATE*** Chloe's puppies arrived on July 13th.
