The Olympia is an example of technology in transition, steam powered, but could still carry sail, operating her required a lot of hand labor, but she was one of the first ships equiped with an electric generator and electric lights.
For her time, she was a high tech weapon of war, equal to the Zumwalt Class destroyers being built today.

USS Midway is a aircraft carrier that served the United States from 1945 to 1992. As a museum, she represents something special to me, because I served in the US Navy from 1980 to 1984 aboard a different aircraft carrier the USS Ranger. |

Vacation in Vietnam 2009 (December 9, 2009)It’s become a tradition for my family to visit our relatives and friends in Vietnam about once every 5 years or so. Thus, since our last visit was in 2005, we started thinking about another visit. This particular trip was timed to coincide with the wedding of one of my wife’s good friends and the return of her parents to the United States.
On this trip we would be accompanied by my father, an 83 year old gentleman, whose love of life has been unaffected by his age.
So it was, on November 21st that we loaded up our luggage, and children and set forth to travel half way around the world to the tropical nation of Vietnam! |

Bliss's New Kitten this is Anubis, the Elder God Ravik called me in to cat whisper this kitling out of his garage. We think someone dumped him in Ravik's nieghborhood and me being the soft touch I am with cats went and fetched him home.

Champlin Fighter Aircraft Museum (2001)These are pictures from the Champlin Fighter Aircraft Museum. Sadly this museum closed shortly after these pictures where taken.
The museum featured rare aircraft from both WWI, WWII and some jet aircraft. It was one of the best museums dedicated to fighters.

Christmas Vacation 2005 (December 18 2005)| We left Wichita and drove to Albuquerque, New Mexico. We stayed there for a couple of days and then pushed on to Phoenix Arizona. We celebrated Christmas in Phoenix and began the return trip a couple of days after. We stopped again in Albuquerque and made back to Wichita by Dec 29. Great Vacation, but too short. Next time up to stay longer. |
