CAWDOR CASTLE This castle is located near Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. I was very lucky in that they let visitors that day take photos inside. Therefore, I do have a few photos of the inside too. I also discovered on my visit that several of the clan members from this castle also married into my anscestors the "ROSS" clan of the Highlands. This was well worth the visit since finally we were able to take a few inside photos too. The day we went it was very cloudy and dark outside. When we did come out of the castle later, about one hour, it was raining too. This castle is occupied in the fall and winter months. The family relocates, to another home, for the summer and spring so the castle can open for tourist. One of the bedrooms we saw. One of the many tapestries we saw. This castle did have GREAT :) descriptive information to read in each room. This we did not find at all castles. We just figured that many of the other castles wanted you to buy their expensive guide books instead. YES, THIS IS A TREE THAT IS GROWING IN THE BASEMENTCLICK HERE to read about this event.
