I have been blessed to take two trips to Scottsdale AZ with my friend Sharon and these are photos of our journey as well as of their home in Scottsdale. We drove through Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, California and, of course, Washington. It was a wonderful trip and we were BUSY bees to say the least. I got to do and see some wonderful things. We bought fresh dates from a date farm on the way home and fresh Pistachios from California. YUM! The weather was in the 80's and 90's most of the time we were there and it was a wonderful second summer!! It was a false reality and had to end unfortunately as we came home to cool temps but the day we got home, the Lord blessed us with sun here too! YAY!!!! My photos don't do the house justice, and it is only in the beginning stages, as there is much decorating yet to do. But it is fun to have these photos and then to compare them to later photos after the work has been done. Sharon and Gary's home is 5600 sq ft and has 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, a great room, den, gourmet kitchen, exercise room, game room, bar, media room, wine room, all gathered around the center courtyard that has no roof, so you can sit out and enjoy the open environment. Floors are all Travertine except bedrooms with carpet. All counters are gorgeous granite. Backyard will house a gorgeous pool with waterfall, flagstone patio with built in grill, fridge and sink., cabana with misting system and fan. What a beautiful home.

Mama Owl giving me the lazzzzzy eye....I went for a walk and found this girl spying on me from the top of a Sahuaro Cactus. As I walked past the cactus and looked back at her I was surprised and delighted to discover that she had babies hidden behind her!
These lil peepers were watching me as I came around the Sahuaro....So amazing!!!
Mama owl again...
Another mama owl and her baby nested in the front of an empty house...

Green room, quite large and will be lovely when decor is complete and more color is added.
Green room painted soft suede colors that are really cozy. There is a gorgeous wood and copper bedroom set on order that will go in this room. Should be gorgeous with the sage and espresso brown.
Nice reading area in green room...
lovely bath in green room
green bath...
Smallest front bedroom, unfortunately the comforter didn't arrive before we left. This will be the red room, my favorite room! Gary said my name will be on the door and I got a giggle out of that. Will be lovely to visit.
Ok this is Lynn's room....SCRUMPTIOUS! I had such a blast helping decorate this trip. Love the colors in Sharon and Gary's home and my room sports my favorites!
beautiful bath in my room...
Brown and blue room, wonderful big windows...
Blue room finished.
bath in the brown and blue room
blue room bath redone...
Master bedroom, plum and pewter. The size of this room makes the king size bed look tiny...
Master tub and one of the counters
Master bath redone and gorgeous!
Entrance to master shower...
Great room...15' ceilings make this room feel massive. We have some great design ideas for this room. The clutter boxes are being removed from the wall next to the fireplace and an awesome huge hutch we bought will go in the inset. The fireplace is going to be rocked all the way up in a really beautiful stone. This room will come together beautifully!
Great room painted and fireplace redone...just beautiful!
Love the great room!
Love this beautiful mesquite table with inlaid turquois...

From great room to kitchen. This room is beautiful but the photo doesn't do it justice. We hate big rubble rock they used on the bar and we picked out much nicer/smaller stone and Sharon is having the crew change it out.

kitchen finished. SUCH an improvement. I LOVE Sharon's paint color choice in this room.
Gorgeous copper dining table with Saguaro skeleton base

lovely inviting dining area...
Gorgeous old piece we got for the hall
game room will house a pool table and ping pong as well, lots of family fun. Also the double doors lead to a media room that will house a large TV. Small rounded door is a wine keeping room that has humidity control and temp controls. Linda bought a lone bottle of wine for this room and sharon is going to set it on a stand...they don't drink. We all got a good chuckle out of it! I told Sharon to store produce in there!
Shower off of the pool area
pool bathroom redone. love the suede paints in the house!
powder room off the kitchen
laundry room
The house is built around this center courtyard with three sets of french doors that can be accessed from all areas of the home. The fireplace is gas and there are waterfalls that spill over it as well. You can sit out here to eat under the stars in the evening even in the winter...AMAZING
I love the architecture in the houses in Scottsdale..love the exposed wood beams.
Dead taranchula in the courtyard...ok I know spiders are a wonderful blessing, because they consume so many bugs ... but EWWWWWWWWW
den
den french doors that go out to a patio at the front of the house.
A neighboring home that we admired the landscape of. Such a lovely clean look. The tree is a Palo Verde and you just put in your plants, rake everything clean and put in fine gravel. That is MY kind of landscaping!
I liked the look of this home. There are so many beautiful homes in the area.
Mountain views from the back patio.

Loved this pretty honeysuckle in the front, we planted more.
Sharon had the gardener busy when we were there repairing the drip system and planting Bougainvilla along the whole adobe wall and she had three Seguaro cactus planted on the property as well.
Unfinished pool. Silly waterfall will be removed, and a nice one put in soon. A cabana being built right behind it right now.
Back patio where built in BBQ is being built. They were almost done when we left and the flagstone was almost finished as well.
Day before flagstone was begun.
Bougainvilla plant so prevalent here in the desert. Such a soft and beautiful touch in this harsh environment.
A neighbor's back yard...we got a bit of a chuckle at the theme park backyard, but I bet their kids LOVE it!
