Love Letters - Between the Pages, Part 1
FEW NEW NOTATIONS MADE 2/16/07
Love Letters Between Momma and Daddy.
Love Letters Straight From the Heart . . Keeps Us So Near While Apart . . .
Separation during war is especially difficult. Daddy and mama married September 3, 1939.  We miss them terribly, but we have their memories.  Many of these letters have no dates unless I've written something on the first page of the letter that "might" give a date line. I know they were from WWII. These letters are from daddy to mama. Those commenting will mostly be their children ... Jacqueline, Andrea, Stephens, Madeline, Rebecca, Sharon, and David.

In all my spare time I think about having you to love. I try to think of new ways to tell you, so all I can do is tell you the same thing over and over and over.

I wish our letters traveled faster so we get make plans.Nothing is right this way with us being apart all the time. The European situation looks good now. Here's hoping the Japs won't hold out too long.

The worst part of the practical hours, when we put a couple hundred trainees through the paces of giving an enema .. waterless or very little .. to each other..one gets sort of tired of looking at asses for an hour ..

I wish the darn Japs would realize the futility of this war and give up ...
Listening to Sim's (Cottonseed Clark) radio program. I can't tell whether it is good or not as I can listen to it from an unprejudiced standpoint. Their "Riders of the Purple Sage" song sounds pretty good.
Sounds like Sims condition might be pretty good ...

Ratings..I'm beginning to doubt we will ever get them. It may be good for the economy, but it's  hard on the fellows who need and deserve it. It would help the moral of the soldiers.
Joplin and Neosho trips can be expensive.

As to mother's desires, she would want us to spend all our time there and I don't intend to do that.
