Is this cool or what? The marquee over the entranceway at the 2012 Vancouver Regional. Held in the River Rock Casino Resort's Show Theatre, which is normally a raised auditorium-style layout. But the seats can be lowered and rotated to face downwards, leaving a flat floor to run ballroom-type events. (In fact, during the week, one of the boards slipped through a crack in the floor and ended up with the overturned seats below!)
Wednesday-Thursday Bracket Two winners: Diana Rickson, Comox BC; Jean Tait- Sharon Feduniak - Sharon Bradshaw, Courtenay BC.
Wednesday-Thursday Bracket Three winners: Peter Miller, West Vancouver BC; Louise Lott, Bellingham WA; Leatha Dudra (new Life Master!) - John Stevens, Surrey BC.
One view from the balcony of the playing area during an evening session.
Another view from above during an evening session. The morning and afternoon sessions were full and crowded, but more space will be rented for 2014 and better lighting will be installed.
The view from the Daily Bulletin Editor's room on the ninth floor. The site was a quick Canada Line ride from the airport, with planes clearing the hotel by a few hundred feet on their way in. That's the Arthur Laing (Granville St.) Bridge and YVR runway 26R in the background...
