| This is what I call the international Burma truck. It has a US Army frame and running gear, front clip, cab and steel bed. The wheels are russian, the tires chinese, the engine is japanese, and the wood box, local burmanese made. I suspect most WWII vehicles in Burma have been modified in someway to keep them on the road.
| The hood and the fenders have been extend probably 10-12 inches most likely to accommodate the larger engine.
| Most of the large trucks have had their engines replaced with Japanese diesel engines. Not sure what type but maybe "Hino"
|
| | | Seen this 1960's Chevy on the streets of Rangoon. Could never get in a position to get a good photo but car looked like it was in very good shape.
|
| | Not sure what this is, could even be post war Japanese
| This is the Burmanese version of a shade tree mechanic.
|
| Not sure what this is but may be from the 40s or 50s, British??

| Early 1940s chevy truck in use.

This truck had 1940s Dodge truck front fenders but not sure if anything else is Dodge.
| Japanese Hino diesel engine
| | The cab is from ???
|
Again the truck looks modified by strecthing the hoods and fender to accomodate a larger engine. COULD THE CAB BE STUDEBAKER
| Accident can happen in Burma too.
| A 1940s Dodge truck we chased down to get a picture that is still in use.

NOTICE THE PERKINS ON THE GRILL
| The engine has been replaced probably with Japanese (diesel?)
| Right hand drive
| |
