Enlarge photo 1 The photos in this album are of jeeps that I took on a trip to Burma in Jan 2006 to travel along the Ledo Road.  I know liitle about jeeps but some I know are from WWII.  There are lots of jeeps in Burma ranging from the WWII versions to some very modern very cool jeeps that I have never seen in this country.  Please add comments.
Enlarge photo 2 The next jeeps were parked just outside the Myitkyina airport.  They looked WWII to me but ??.

Enlarge photo 5 Enlarge photo 6 Enlarge photo 7 Enlarge photo 8 I saw many jeeps of this style but could never fiquire out if this was a very cool custom job of a WWII jeep or a modern retro-looking jeep
Enlarge photo 9 Enlarge photo 10 Enlarge photo 11 This jeep I know is a WWII jeep as it has been in the Burmanese owners family since WWII.  He claims it was the personal jeep of a B.General in the Kachin rangers that was attached to OSS Detachment 101. Not quite sure how his family ended up with it, may be they were related to the general or may be the general's driver that kept the jeep.

Enlarge photo 17 Looks like the floor boards have be replaced but a nice job.
Enlarge photo 18 A highlight of my trip, I actually got to ride in this WWII jeep.

Enlarge photo 29 Enlarge photo 30 Enlarge photo 31 These guys were making a cowl for the jeep behind them. They are using a short segment of pipe and a flat body iron to pound it out.  It looked like the were construting the jeep behind them panel by panel and evidently by hand.
Enlarge photo 32 This is a WWII jeep belonging to a Pakistan family leaving across from our hotel.  The grandfather worked on the Ledo Road as a machanic  was still alive and living with them.  He still had some of his WWII documentation-ID, pay records, manuals.
