Enlarge photo 1 This is Viola, an approximately 5 year old rattie terrier mix.
Enlarge photo 2 Enlarge photo 3 She weighs 18 lbs.
Enlarge photo 4 Viola is very people oriented, making new friends easily and loving attention and cuddles from anyone willing to give it to her.
Enlarge photo 5 Offer her some lap time and she'll burrow in close for snuggles. She will occasionally give a tentative kiss  but actually isn't very licky.
Enlarge photo 6 Viola is confident, well socialized, and comfortable in her surroundings.
Enlarge photo 7 She came to rescue already reliably house trained.
Enlarge photo 8 She has very nice house manners, knows some basic obedience commands, and walks well on leash (though she does tend to pull a bit).
Enlarge photo 9 She LOVES toys -- squeaky ones, stuffed ones, tennis ball, and chew toys -- and will happily entertain herself.
Enlarge photo 10 If someone is willing to play with her, that is even better! She knows how to fetch a thrown tennis ball and bring it back so that you can throw it again.
Enlarge photo 11 But sometimes a little tug is more fun than fetching.
Enlarge photo 12 If you're not around to throw the tennis ball? No problem! She'll happily amuse herself trying to pull the fuzz off of it.
Enlarge photo 13 When she is tired of playing, she just curls up for a quick nap so that she is refreshed for whatever adventure comes next.
Enlarge photo 14 Viola's markings on forehead, nose bridge, and eyebrows give her a look of perpetual concern or suspicion, even when she is actually totally at ease.
Enlarge photo 15 She isn't particularly barky, although she does vocalize when she is concerned, such as on meeting strange new dogs or being left at home alone.
Enlarge photo 16 Overall Viola gets along well with other dogs, although she may take a couple of days to feel completely comfortable with them. Upon first meeting a new dog she is likely to bark and even lift a lip, but she doesn't escalate things, and if the other dog just ignores her, she gives up her sassy attitude. Although she doesn't play directly with other dogs by wrestling, tugging, or chasing, she does like to just hang out near them, sharing a couch or a bed, and joining in when others go inside or outside.
Enlarge photo 17 Viola can sometimes get a bit possessive with toys and may also do a bit of resource guarding when she is on a lap and another dog tries to barge in. But she only stays bossy for a short while, and most of the time she is accommodating and nonchalant.
Enlarge photo 18 Ah, yeah, right there!
