Say hi to little Romano.
He is about 4 years old.
Romano weighs 14.7 lbs. and stands about a foot tall (to shoulders).
He is a shy, mellow fellow.
He will timidly seek out attention and is very appreciative when you give him pats, scratches, and belly rubs.
So far he hasn't shown himself to be a big snuggler, though. He likes to hang out near me, choosing the closest dog bed to where I am, then just calmly watch me or take a quiet snooze.
We have been guessing at his breed heritage. While his face/head look very rat terrier, his legs are relative short and thick, with turned out feet like a corgi. And his fur, particularly on his tail and back end, is thick and rather wooly.
Do you see it?
Romano did a fair bit of light marking in his first few days here, but saved the big stuff for outside. So he wore a belly band indoors for a few days before settling in enough to making it unnecessary.
When he has regular access to the yard every 3 hours or so, his housetraining is reliable. We haven't yet determine how long he will "hold it" if we don't have him on a set schedule.
He met the other dogs here with polite curiosity and immediately got along with everyone.
He shares his space and resources comfortably.
Just chillin', watching Foster Mom work.
He is very quiet in the house. We have only heard him bark once.
