Enlarge photo 1 The shelter asked New Rattitude to rescue this little man, who was from an abandonment case.
Enlarge photo 2 How could we say no to this preciousness?
Enlarge photo 3 Miller's background was pretty awful. He and several other animals had been found abandoned in a home.
Enlarge photo 4 And all of the dogs were starving, flea infested, and suffering from skin infections from lying in unsanitary conditions.
Enlarge photo 5 But Miller was bright-eyed, personable, and engaging.
Enlarge MPEG4 6 The shelter video showed a resilient and friendly personality. (Click the download link to show the video right side up.)
Enlarge photo 7 Once in his foster home, he immediately started showing that somewhere in his past five he had been well trained and cared for. He was comfortable in the house and with household noises and new people.
Enlarge photo 8 He knows the "sit" command, did fine with a bath, and has no objection to being handled.
Enlarge photo 9 In fact, he seeks it out!
Enlarge photo 10 Within just minutes he was comfortable jumping up onto our laps when invited...
Enlarge photo 11 ...and showing his appreciation for being rescued from the shelter.
Enlarge photo 12 He was pretty scruffy and smelly from his rough time over the past few weeks.
Enlarge photo 13 But overall he seemed no worse for wear from the ordeal.
Enlarge photo 14 He didn't mind getting a bath and also did well with his nail trim later.
Enlarge photo 15 After a second bath on Day Two, he was already starting to look so much better!
Enlarge photo 16 Miller met his new foster brother Guinness with mild interest. The two have gotten along fine for the most part, with neither paying much attention to the other except for an occasional nose touch or booty sniff.
Enlarge photo 17 But because Guinness is blind and hearing impaired, he had a couple of occasions where he jumped up onto the couch, not realizing Miller was there, and Miller told him off when he landed on top of him. That scared Guinness, who now avoids Miller when he can.
Enlarge photo 18 "Hey, you wouldn't appreciate being jumped on either, would you?"
Enlarge photo 19 Miller tends to follow us around, wanting to be near us. He wants to not be left behind, so he will occasionally try to slip out unnoticed when we go out into the garage.
Enlarge photo 20 Can't blame a guy for trying!

Enlarge photo 22 He is also a fan of bully sticks.
Enlarge photo 23 He is generally a calm, quiet fellow...
Enlarge photo 24 ... who just wants some lovin'.
Enlarge photo 25 Will you be my new forever family?
