Hi! I'm Lola, and I'm really happy to meet you!
| Have a seat, and we can get to know each other better. I'll go first.
| I'm an active 10-year-old lady and I weigh a slender 13 lbs.
|
My mama got me from a Rat Terrier breeder when I was just a pup, and we spent many happy years together, but she passed away. Now her best friend is helping me find a new home with someone I'm sure I'll grow to love very, very much.
| I enjoy going on leashed walks and I really love it when I'm somewhere that I can run safely off leash. Then I'm full speed ahead until you call me back to you.
| I'm nimble and very alert and interested in the world around me.
|
Even though I don't like having the harness and leash put on, once that business is out of the way, I'm rarin' to go. Just to make sure that you get a proper workout, I start out by pulling some and zigzagging a bit, but then I give you a break and just accompany you happily wherever you want to take me and as far as you like.
| I get scared when big dogs come charging right up to me or jump on me, and I may need to growl to tell them to stop being so rude.
| But except for that, I'm a very gregarious gal, and I like being around other dogs -- especially familiar ones.
|
I love playing with other dogs, especially if they'll chase me or let me chase them. If they don't want to chase, I'm okay with just wrestling. I'm not big on toys... nor do I appreciate being expected to run pick up a ball or other object that you've tossed. (Insulting expectation, if you ask me!) But give me a playful canine friend and a fenced yard, and I'm happy as a clam.
| And then, of course, once we're tired out, it's nap time. Why bother with two beds when one does just fine?
| Now we have to talk about delicate matters. Yes, I mean #1 and #2. Of course, being the prim and proper lady that I am, I can state with pride that I'm reliably house trained. However.... well, this is a little embarrassing to admit... I so very much want to be with people that when I'm in a situation where I'm left alone for long periods, I get anxious. And that anxiety sometimes blemishes my perfect house-training record. I think that if I could live somewhere that people didn't have to routinely leave me alone for long periods, I could overcome this shameful imperfection.
|
People, ah people. I love people. I love cuddling with them, interacting with them, and having great conversations with them (like we are doing now). I admit that sometimes upon first meeting a stranger I'm not immediately sure whether they're going to be worthy of my trust and friendship, and I may hang back a bit (hiding behind my human) to observe and decide. But I can't stay aloof for long, especially if the newcomer offers me a treat, and presto! I've added another friend to my circle.
| I definitely have a love of snacks and treats, and when you offer me something, I'm totally spellbound. Do I have to do something to earn the treat? No problem -- I'll sit, lie down, quiet...
| ... or beg ... (Please admire my focus and attention!)
|
...and beg...
| ...and yippee, paws up, doin' the happy dance! (Can't you just imagine me on the dance floor at a night club?)
| Honestly, though, I'm perfectly content just lounging around, either on the sofa or in some other comfy spot, as long as my beloved person is somewhere nearby or else going to be coming home to me soon.
|
So that is me. Now what about you? Do you have the love in your heart to offer a home to a devoted, friendly, intelligent, observant and engaged companion? If so, please apply to adopt me.
