Glen Canyon National Park (October 9, 2004)Glen Canyon is located in southern Arizona. This park is actually a very large lake "Lake Powel" created by the Glen Canyon Dam. Second largest dam in the US. When we visited the lake had been in a drought 6 years and you can see the white lines above the current water level indicating the usual water levels. Still the lake and dam were breath taking. |

Pearce (October 19, 2004)Pearce used to be a prosperous gold mining town. Now its a ghost town. The ghost town of Pearce is not much of a ghost now as a few folks live there and have a couple of shops. They also have a festival in November. Pearce is about a mile from Sunsites Airzona. So each day we drove past it to and from our friends place. Also in this area is the oldest house in the county. |

The first one was Cochise's Stronghold, however this was not a good place for pictures, mostly its a campground now, however the next attraction was Chiricahua Canyon National Park. If there one thing were learning on this trip is that erosion plays tricks with the rock and soil of this here planet! |
