Some of the activities in the winter of 2007 could not be photograghed. This work involved preparing Perpetua for a shake down crise. In March Perpetua was rammed by another boat while in her slip. The damaged was limited to the dingy divits and solar panel frame. The repairs took 6 weeks from incident to completion. Record time for Mexico. While on a shake down cruise the heat exchanger over heated and had to be cleaned and a raw water pump repaired.

In early March Perpetua was "pumped" by another boat. It twisted the boat davits and solar panel stainless steel frames. It took 6 weeks to fix them as the parts had to be shipped in from the USA.
Notice the twisted tubing and broken welds.
Notice the twisted tubing and broken welds on both sides of the framework.
In April we attempted to leave port, however as we were leaving the engine overheated and we discovered that a raw water pump was broken. The repairs forced us to reduce our cruising time.

We used vinegar soakenings and soapy water. Also various tools were used to scrap and clean the heat exchanger.
