My son, Carl Bjurlin, will be attending the Landing School in Maine for 10 months starting in September 2004. In mid June he and I visited the site to secure housing and interview current students at the school. These pictures are from that visit

Carl speaking with Roger, head of the Systems curriculum.
Disembodied hand: the kind of tasks which Carl is likely to be assigned, in tight spaces!
Students have individual work benches in the workshop area. Each must bring their own specified collection of tools.
One of the power boats built during the 2003/04 season. These boats are presold for aproximately $120K!
View of the interior of the other boat built this year.
Carl's rented cottage in Wells, Maine.
The cottage has a screened in porch, a bedroom/bath and an additional space for cooking and living. The cottage has a fold out couch, making it possible to have overnight guests.
There is a lovely brookside park area in front of the cottage.
Within one mile is the Wells harbor.
Three or four miles from the cottage is this beautiful beach on the Atlantic.
Great picture of Carl on the beach with mountain like rocks in the forground.
The large boulders on the beach all looked massive even though they were only 2-3 feet tall!
