Gary Blasey's car
'39 Chevy

All body panels were built in early-mid 60s on same car. Back then, it ran a 6 cyl GM engine. Recent yrs updated to 360 Chevy & 6spd clutchless xmission.

Spring of 1960. Car was brand new-never yet raced.

L-R was Gary Blasey, Gene Warmbir, & Don Gray.

Sadly, Gene passed away this summer of 2004

1962 photo taken at "Beautiful US 30 Dragstrip". Most in this area have recollections of their ads on WLS radio.

Gary still had the 278 cid 6 cyl running 4 deuces & 4spd. Isky cam & Blasey headers.

Gary had just returned from the '63 Indy Nationals. Sadly-no trophies. Still a 6 cyl.

I believe that may be Gene's '62 "409-409" on rh side of photo.

1974...taken just before 30 yr retirement of car. However, the "coupe" was now running a Chevy V8. No more 6.
