Driving along highway 64, north of Bald Knob, Arkansas, I stopped to photograph a panoramic view of the valley to my south, only to find a much more interesting image at my feet.

PT Pond 1 Original
This photograph was taken with an iphone, using the app proHDR. What appears to be a reflection in water was actually the roof of my PT Cruiser, which I used to steady the iphone during the HDR exposures. Below, is a series of photographs with variations on the theme, as I explored the rubber stamp tool, curves, and filters in Photoshop. Enjoy.

Since taking this photograph on a stormy evening, this little house along highway 64 in the Arkansas Delta has been turned into a roadside business.

PT Pond 6
Poles in the original iPhoto were edited out, after which the Curves tool in Photoshop was used to create this sunrise look (I was looking east), by enhancing the reflections on the top of my bronze colored PT Cruiser.

After editing out the distracting houses and light poles, the iPhoto was tweaked with a filter to give the painted look and the color warmth was increased.

Ice Morning HDR.psd
iPhone, or phone camera technology in general, is improving. This photograph was taken with the help of HDR Pro, an app that scans the image for correct exposure and then combines two images that are exposed for light and dark areas of the scene. You just have to hold the camera phone very still while it's taking the exposures.

HDR morning #2. HDR, high definition resolution, is achieved by taking two or more photographs of the same subject, at different aperture settings, then combining them into one image. In this case, using Photoshop.

Stormy Morning.psd
This is an HDR (High Definition Resolution) Photo, taken with a Nikon D300 camera. Two photos, merged in Photoshop's HDR processing. HDR makes it possible to merge the bright distance light with the dark clouds and dark tree while revealing detail in all areas of the scene. I had to chase this incoming storm to the edge of town to find a spot free of power lines and city clutter.
