"Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson is one of my favorite science fiction books! Hiro is named after the main character, Hiro Protagonist, whose business card reads "Last of the freelance hackers and Greatest swordfighter in the world." While he lacks opposing digits to be either a swordfighter or a hacker, I think that his smarts and quickness make him like his namesake!
