Waroona Dam Visit Waroona Dam which was built on the Drakes Brook, with construction completed in 1966. The reservoir known as Lake Navarino covers an area of 145 hectares with its primary use being irrigation. It is also used extensively for recreational activities such as water skiing and freshwater fishing. The surrounding forest provides beautiful displays of wildflowers in season. Bush walking is a popular pastime for many visitors and part of the old Bibbulmun Track is still in existence and has been reopened for public use as part of the Munda Biddi Trail.  Dogs on leash allowed. 1 Westerly view from Gravel Road along bank of Waroona Dam Waroona Dam, also called Lake Navarino is situated 8km east of Waroona. 2 Fun on the water Waroona Dam is a popular place with water skiers. 3 Easterly view from Gravel Road along bank of Waroona Dam After a winter of low rainfall, the water level is currently at 39% capacity. 4 Forest on the northern bank overlooks the Dam Bush walking is a popular pastime for visitors and campers. 5 Visitors enjoying recreational activities Fish Present: Redfin Perch, Rainbow Trout and Marron. Stocked fish: Rainbow Trout. 6 Commemorative Plaque A large granite rock in the parking area holds the commemorative plaque. 7 Commemorative Plaque "This plaque was unveiled on 11th November 1966 by The Hon Ross Hutchinson D.F.C. M.L.A. Minister for Works and Water Supplies to commemorate the official opening of WAROONA DAM.  Constructing authority Public Works Department. 8 Jarrah Forest with understorey of native species Natural bushland. 9 Natural Bushland Jarrah Forest with understorey of Grasstrees. 10 Parking area edged by Trees 11 Picnic Area surrounded by nature 12 View through the Trees to the Dam below
