Rebuilding Six Volt Generator
Refurbishing an Auto-Lite six volt generator for a 1940 Dodge VF-401 1.5 ton 4WD cargo truck.  This is a Type A shunt type generator.  The field is externally grounded at the regulator.  "Polarize by grounding the field terminal and then making a momentary connection from the starting switch or regulator 'battery' terminal to the generator 'Armature' terminal."
